Heck, she could have Linked with another woman, had her weave the Compulsion, and then left when the messenger was sent away. There are a lot of possibilities here and the fact that the exterior of her palace just doesn't match up with prior recollections sends a warning bell to me that Rand was lead to the wrong place.
These are more and more contrived theories of how she would escape. The fact remains that her Compulsion disappeared after the balefire, which is incredible timing if you think about it. She had absolutely no idea that Rand was even outside the Palace - merely that he'd sent an envoy from the city.
There's a very good chance we'll see a PoV from her in the next book which is on a parallel timeline. Lounging in her chair, she'll think of Rand and screech as balefire hits her like an avalanche.
