I only partially agree - Edit 1

I tend to take Graendal at her word and RJ at his when they express that she doesn't know who or where he is and the latter indicates there is no information we would have access to allowing us to figure this out.

I think he is just a lame duck, like many of the Forsaken. He seemed so infantile at the meeting towards the begining of the book that I think we may as well keep on the lookout but not be too surprised at how he falls. He seems more similar to Lanfear than Moridin in many ways. He's more dangerous than Mesaana but he literally broadcasts the ring in his nose that can be used to pull him. Let's get this straight: Semirhage is captured and now in big trouble because she injured Rand when those weren't her orders...and Demandred basically blurts out that he will be the one to kill him in front of Moridin. What a maroon. Pride tends to go before a fall, and Demandred has more than enough for any man.

Pride will kill Demandred, and his inability to see that he will never match up to Lews Therin. There is a school of thought that Demandred will be matched by Rand and Rand will kill him in some epic duel, but I totally disagree with this. I think Rand is reserved for Moridin alone.

My chief theory is that Narishma will kill Demandred. All of the Forsaken generals have fallen to rather small obstacles because of their pride ... Sammael to a wisp of Mashadar, Be'lal to balefire from a much weaker opponent. My theory was sealed for me when Rand taught Narishma balefire, in this book deemed the weapon to use exclusively against the Forsaken. I think Demandred is going to scoff at Narishma and get balefired. Demandred refuses to use balefire, but Narishma will have no such hesitation.

My other lesser theory is that Mat will kill Demandred with his Ashandarei. Mat and Demandred will have a military contest as two great generals, and eventually meet on the battlefield - Demandred with his immense power and skill, and Mat with his ter'angreal and the fact that he's a ta'verenl.

Demandred's death will be one of those two I think. Still, I don't think he'll be a lame duck. I think we'll see some awesome military skill from him before he dies.
