Mat always does come through in a pinch. He is going to come to the rescue of Moiraine, his wife, and probably Rand, too. He will be the key, along with Lan and Perrin, to winning TG. He is the one bringing all the innovations to battle along with ALL the knowledge of ALL the best generals back to Hawkwing. The Shadow will not know what hit them. Think of all the people he's rescued throughout the story. He complains and he preens and he acts silly, but his heart is in the right place. I can't wait to see him help Tuon whip the Empire back into shape. The question is will Tuon and Rand end up fighting over him??
