I do think that's quite likely, yes. Legolas Send a noteboard - 31/10/2009 04:51:21 PM
Anyone get the feeling that Semirhage was set up by Shaidar Haran to die - to put the Dragon Reborn into a predicament so dire that he could only reach out to the True Power as a last resort, something that only the Great Lord of the Dark can bestow as a privilege, and thereby become corrupted over time? Or do you think it was something the Pattern wove into existence for a precaution should te need arise, when Rand and Moridin's opposing balefires crossed and merged their threads together? Or sheer happenstance of such?

But until we know more about just how he did the supposedly impossible and channeled the TP, we can't know for sure. Especially since the end of the book seems to suggest him overcoming the effects of the Semirhage incident... it's weird.

Edit: by the way, hadn't we concluded that blocking saidin/saidar also blocked someone from the TP...? Or am I misremembering that?

Obviously yes... otherwise they wouldn't have left the access key behind for Rand *NM* - 31/10/2009 06:47:26 AM 242 Views
I don't think they expected Semi to get away with Rand - 31/10/2009 02:43:23 PM 553 Views
I'm not so sure... I think they planned most of this event as their revenge on Semirhage - 31/10/2009 07:09:21 PM 512 Views
