I know he didn't want to emulate RJ's style, but some things bothered me, though I'm still extremely glad to have the book in my hands. Mat's humor for one, random phrases that sound too scientific or modern for another. I also can't recall normal characters saying "aye," and that one stuck with me. To contrast, nothing about Egwene seemed off to me.
It does feel a bit...over-explained? I noticed that when I read Elantris, but I chalked it up to the difference in story length. I love how seamlessly and elegantly different parts fit together to make the whole picture in WoT, and having to put those parts together is one of most intriguing parts of the series to me.
I can't shake the feeling that this is really more like a well-written fanfic moving on from the previous book. I keep thinking...is this really how it went in RJ's head? But, since it IS well-written, just in a different style, I can love it and be so excited about it that I'm still up at nearly four in the morning after finishing it in one day, even if it isn't what RJ would have done. I can't have that, but this is definitely the next best thing. I'm glad they found someone who cares so deeply about the books as Sanderson to take over and produce something packed with moments so good they made me react out loud while reading.
To sum up: things are different, it's still a great story, no unhappiness over here.

The moment it was announced BS was taking over, I muttered "perfect choice!" to myself.

He knocked that one out of the park and restored interest in WoT for me.

I am, but I am still not so discourteous to refer to him in so familiar a way
