I dont mean the story or what you thought of the plot, just the writer.

I had my doubts, having never read Mistborn (although I might have to have a look now) about whether anyone could continue what RJ had started.
I have to say, he's blown me away. It was very well written, apart from something about carbon and a couple of Mat's phrases it felt totally natural.
Mat was always going to be the hardest to write, I always thought he was the person Jordan put the most of himself into. His sense of humour in particular, something nobody could ever replicate.
Some people will love Mat, some people will hate him, I could tell that it wasn't RJ, but that didn't matter. If you're really concerned then put it down to Mat being married, as my dad used to tell me "it does funny things to man, knowning he's never going to have fun again" and it still feels like Mat, even if it's not exactly the same.

I will be slaughtered for saying it, probably rightly so, but I worried for the series even before RJ became ill. His books were good (and improving again after KOD) but he'd gone astray after the first 6. This book grabbed me like nothing since tGH did, while it will take a few re-reads for me to deicde just where it stands, I think the fact the author had less creative freedom is for the best at this stage.
It's clear he has a story there and his job is to tell it. I'm not saying I wouldn't rather have RJ doing it, of course we all would, but BS did a wonderful job and it has picked up the pace of the early series again, which can only be a good thing.

Mistborn is totally worth the read. I read the first two Mistborn books (Hero of Ages wasn't out yet) when I found out Brandon had been tapped to finish WoT and never had a worry. I'm a big fan of his now as well as Robert Jordan. This book was a real treat to have them both together even though we all wish it hadn't come to that. I have every confidence that he will finish the series beautifully.
