A The Light clearly has the overwhelming advantage in channelers and so angreal and sa'angreal may in some ways be more dangerous than helpful if the Shadow should obtain any, ESPECIALLY one such as the Choedan Kal, which we know they have lusted after. But I do wonder, is it more than that? The final moment describes the actual sa'angreal as even more powerful than anything being channeled through the access key, so perhaps it was actually too powerful for the pattern to deal with. Much to think about and thanks for your post!!

Does the light really have the overwhelming advantage in channelers? There were some 250 black ajah mentioned in Verin's notebook out of how many? Plus the black tower is a festering hole of shadow lords if Taim's influence is as strong as it seems at the end of KOD. I guess there's the windfinders, Aiel and Seanchan, but i figure that many of those would also be black - plus with the opportunities for AOL forsaken to teach them new weaves, i wonder whether it just seems that the light has the advantage in channelers because we see the story primarily from their point of view.
If i recall correctly, by the end of the AOL/war of shadows, the Aes Sedai were split about 50:50, and the war was very close - I'd assume a similar pattern this time around.
just food for thought...

It also might be that Rand used Moridin as a conduit, making the DO's permission irrelevant.

Indeed... Moridin is definitely worried about the connection

Seems to me destroying the DO with balefire would take a force equal to his.

I think the TP IS the DO - sealing the Bore with it is illogical and impossible.
