Who else among the Forsaken make frequent use of Compulsion? Who else among them are talented in it, but to a lesser extent than Graendal?
Moghedien. Graendal is too valuable an asset/resource to the Dark One and Moridin to throw her away just like that. I think they planted Moghedien in Natrin's Barrow and it was her Compulsion that was used on Rand's patsy. Moghedien is USELESS now; better to sacrifice her than one who is the supreme expert in mind games.
I think Graendal was nowhere near Natrin's Barrow, and it was Moghedien who was balefired. Serves her right for trying to balefire Nynaeve.
