What is the consensus here? Obviously it's the Dark One strengthening his touch on the world, but something definite happened here.
My thoughts? I think the Seals are all broken. The ripples occur in Chapter 5 Something... Strange. And in Chapter 3 At the Gardens, Moridin tells the Forsaken to search where Rand has been and find the remaining three seals.
Three seals, three ripples.
This doesn't mean the Dark One is free, but the patch that Lews Therin slapped on his prison is gone, and the Dark One can try to open the Bore wider and wider now.
Yeah. Just something I thought as I reread KoD. Maybe this was already agreed upon as the most likely cause, I was just posting what I noticed.
I haven't read much of TGS (just the first chapter for me), but please no referring to it in this thread. I know a few people have found it at bookstores early, and for all I know, this riddle was solved in the prologue or Chapter 2, but don't tell me that. Don't post saying this is answered in TGS, or comparing it to something that happened in TGS. I'm trying to keep any and all spoilers away from me.

When the Wolf King carries the hammer, thus are the final days known. When the fox marries the raven, and the trumpets of battle are blown.
The Ripples.

I don't think they're holding the bore open so much as preventing a better patch from being made.
