Morning Star is actually a title of Mary, and the name of a summer camp run by nuns.

There are also the numerous professions of faith which are, yes, usually in Elven ( A Elbereth Gilthoniel silivren penna miriel... ), but mentions are made of the Star of Earendil (a corruption of the Anglo-Saxon name for the morning star; this is of course somewhat ironic given its Luciferan connections) and the light shining in the darkness, etc.
Tolkein being a pre-Vatican 2 Catholic, I'm pretty sure that was what he had in mind. Whatever the literal etymology, Catholics generally refer to him as Satan, and his pre-Fall angelic title as Light Bearer. Morning Star is not the first thing that comes to anyone's mind in regards to the Devil.

In any discussion, error is possible. In your discussions, it's a near certainty.

On a different topic, how important do you think that stuff is?

On further reflection, I think the religion element being left out is important.

Personally, "religion" in WoT makes perfect sense... For the AoL. Not so much the Third Age

Not great, but better; what all went to Hell after ACoS, Sanderson at least returned to Purgatory

MAYBE in the pacing, but that is it. Sanderson got absolutely nothing else right beyond the events *NM*
