1. What do you think is the funniest moment or line in WoT?
Oh boy... Many Nynaeve and Mat moments, where they show themselves to be completely clueless about their own behavior. Those were the funniest. The moment Mat realizes Birgette is the Birgette of legend also stands out for me.
Rand's, nd Egwene's. They paralleled well, and till tGS it as awesome. Then we got Jesus Rand and personality-less Egwene, and it all went to hell.
Hmmm... I'd say Perrin. Too many people call him slow but smart, but I never saw too much evidence that he was unusually smart. HE wasn't dumb... but that's not quite the same thing.
The worst... hard to pick. Too many things.
The best? tGS, for the most part, though a lot of that was RJ, and it directly contributed to the crappyness of the next two books.
I liked the Aiel, the Andorans and the Aes Sedai.
Because the Blacks actively recruit. DF's are sent over, but even within the Tower, they try to reel in women with even the slightest bit of non-conformity. And once they're in, they're trapped. And in the absence of Tarmon Gaidon, were most of them really any worse than most Tairen and Cairheinin nobles? They just got free reign to misuse their status and power, and they took it. I don't find it THAT surprising that it took 2000 years for someone to make Verin's choice.
I never bought the Seanchan ruling over everything thing. In the new age of Channeling renaissance, their blinkered view of channelers will bite them in the ass. They take people who can do the very best for society and make them dumb conduits. Sure, they are used for useful things other than war, but they're in no position to innovate, since their individuality and drive for success are completely stripped away. The Seanchan are said to be very flexible, and learn from their mistakes. Either they do that here, or they will eventually perish.
Aiel: I see a good chance for them. Those who survived have the example of people like Aviendha, who have seen what is good with Wetlands society. I suspect, in the end, the Aiel will become a society for anyone to join, rather than a particular race of people. They already have let in outsiders, and there are outsiders waiting to join. That will happen, I suspect.
Asha'man: The execrable handling of "Logain's glory" aside, they're clearly going to go big. They're supposed to "balance" the Servants, after all. I see them integrating into normal society just like the AS, over time.
Kin: I see them being a separate organization for a hundred years at most. Someone is going to give in and allow them all to be Aes Sedai, and then they just become retirement till the Three Oaths are removed. I see the Kin as the great hope of the Westlands. They will have the most chance of bringing channeling innovations to society. I expect they will soon have guilds of channelers who will provide all sorts of services to all nations that aren't stupid enough to collar them. And I suspect they might be the first to allow men into their organization.
