Well done and thanks for sticking through to the end
Having recently finished listening to all the books (I was glad to be able to finish them before your treastise finished, to be 'ahead of the game' as such), while I enjoyed the whole series, I do wonder more what it would have been like if Jordan had managed to finish it.
At least to me it certainly wasn't the travesty that I found Kevin J Anderson & Brian Herbert's 'finish' of the Dune series.
However, as alluded to in one of your other posts, it appears that Sanderson had the broad outline of what needed to occur, e.g. certain events / deaths etc.,but struggled with how exactly to get there, and with the detail supporting it.
For instance, the confrontation between Egwene and Rand at Merrilor, with Moiraine's intervention - I think that Jordan always had something like this planned, however I don't think that he intended it to come across like it did, with Egwene and Rand both in the end looking like idiots, seeming to forget all conversations with others ahead of the meeting about what they would say to each other, and Moiraine enters like some magician, suddenly making everything better with a few random quotes of the prophecies, without making any real strong case.
Thus we got to the ending that Jordan desired, but the journey taken to there wasn't quite what Jordan intended, and so I think things varied from his vision, and I find myself more wanting to have a better idea of what Jordan's actual intent was for many of the scenes.
PS: Thanks for the shout out Has been enjoyable reading your posts and engaging in various conversations around it.
