I'm not necessarily saying that such people are wrong or hypocritical, my point is simply that value is personal, relative and individual, AND that no one is rational about their priorities, much less objective. They don't recognize that their priorities or preferences are merely that - priorities and preferences, as opposed to an objective and absolute superiority. Today's miracle is tomorrow's mundane inconvenience. Literally, even in the Bible, the Chosen People eventually got sick of the mana from heaven and started complaining about having to eat it.

By making themselves or their abilities accessible to human nature, the Aes Sedai are going to permanently win over the people or gain any influence worth the cost is my point.
