Maybe they actually purposely are written as if they are going because chaos is truly rampant maybe the pattern is breaking down and future and past and alternate worlds are collapsing? its just not to the extent that it happened in the eye of the world, their everything was order, and Rands victory was one that pushed the blight back, but now the pattern is so thread worn from balefire, hatred, and the dark ones prison breaking the pattern open, the use o the power of the dark one is causing issues too, its possible that everything is literally falling to chaos, that this is a hint of what will happen if the prison completely breaks and the pattern basically collapsing and everything will happen at once, all worlds, all times, everything coexhisting at once in a huge spool, their is a previous version of this exhisting in the book chaos, the dedication of that book actually could be a hint/spoiler for what was to come
