Contemporary Art brings art and ideas to the general public instead of closeting itself in museums where it applies only to those who frequent a museum. However it is not overbearing or obtrusive, it is simply available if people want to participate or take something from contemporary art. Contemporary art is open. In the same way the fantasy series, The Wheel of Time, allows anyone to benefit from its pages. Whether that means gaining a character’s strength, learning a life lesson, or just having good clean fun. It is contemporary art, only in an unexpected, yet traditional, form. Contemporary art is constantly morphing into something new and I believe it is extremely possible that fantasy was one of the inspirations, or bases, for the overall idea of contemporary art.
