They never forced the Seanchan to acknowledge their hypocrisy in collaring sparkers while letting learners walk free - or the even greater hypocrisy of the fact that they claim it's evil and selfish to channel as an individual but a wonderful thing when your channeling is used, involuntarily, to further the power of the Crystal Throne. Damane exist mainly because they're a massive military advantage. And they justify it with some guff about damane being 'less than human', which doesn't hold up to five minutes of logical argument. Lacking that, the practise looks like what it is: power-hungry exploitation.

And wow, that looks really ranty, but don't get me wrong, I like the Seanchan. I find all their weird cultural ways v interesting. I just hate their wilful self-serving blindness on this issue.
