Our list of people strong enough to have been in that circle - which technically shouldn't have included Moraine anymore or any AS with a sangreal or many with an angreal would have done - we had a pool that included Elayne, Egwene, Cadsuane, and Alivia for sure and presumably Aviendha and Amys too, I don't recall them being compared to Moraine in power specifically, and a wavefinder or two at least. Now most of those could be considered 'needed elsewhere' but Alivia at least had nothing to but kill shit or be a battery, she's no general or leader, neither is Aviendha.

Of course it is very damn unclear why Rand didn't go in there with a few extra bodies anyway. "Haha Lews Therin! Let us duel and I have Alanna chained to the wall dying and you can't heal her! Mwahahaha... oh, you broke off a few other heavyweights from your army of a thousand plus channelers to come along and guard your back, huh, I thought we'd agreed that duty would be left up to one old dude with no channeling ability down the road a ways. Presumably part of the problem was that anyone not in the Callandor mass-power draw was vulnerable to DO attack but then moridin's wounding and killing of Alana becomes rather redundant... hey! wouldn't that also have been a handy time for Shadar Haran to be around? Oh I forgot, the DO outgrew him.
