I've been looking it up, because I was initially thinking that Moiraine had helped shield the youngun's dreams, but now I'm thinking that maybe she just warned them to watch out.

I may be wrong, but I think the point still stands that they should have been asked/watched/... taught? that with greater importance would come greater surprises. I'm not being fair, I'm sure, given that one of my pet hates is that nobody in WoT tells anyone else anything, ever, unless forced to. Hyperbole, yes, but I'm still a bit riled after just having finished.
