I think it's going to take me a minute to sort it out - I definitely loved a lot of it, but it was rushed and all I could think was that I would have loved if some of this action had managed to trickle down into previous books. It annoys me greatly that all the action is packed into a couple books, when we spent several just trying to find Faile. And now... I hate bitching about this topic, but we literally had more paragraphs from Morgase about serving tea than we did about Mat and Fain. Maybe it's stupid, but that does piss me off.
Likes:
-I loved Lan through all of it
-LOVED the attention Tam got
-Liked some of the Perrin arc (growing up and mastering TAR, not the Faile stuff)
-LOVED the idea of the dragons in the cavern, and just Mat/Tuon in general. Maybe this means I'm stupid, but I did not guess how that would play out with Min.
-Liked Egwene's end, but it definitely didn't help me like Gawyn. Or Galad for that matter.
-I actually kinda liked Demandred. The way they were written, I would have not been happy if G/G killed him. I actually wondered for a minute if Sanderson was going to send Mat and a quarterstaff up there. I <3 Lan, so that worked well for me.
-Androl/Pevara
Dislike:
-Moiraine and Nynaeve did nothing. That's not fair, I know, but Nyn is my favorite character in the whole series, and I just don't like the way that was written.
-Also didn't love the stuff with Slayer, other than getting to watch Perrin learn TAR
-Hated Gawyn and Galad, which makes me sad. Gawyn morphed only into a way to make Egwene cooler, and I used to like Galad.
-LANFEAR. Omg. It was like they lifted her right back out of the 3rd book and didn't bother to update her at all. If Perrin hadn't done what he did, I was going to burn the book.
-Graendal. I'll give her that she did well with the generals, but sheesh. That just did nothing for me.
