Unfortunately RJ died and didn't get to finish his story. Somebody else finished it for him. It wouldn't have mattered who was asked to finish the books, it wasn't going to be the same.

All I read the books for was to try and resolve the plot. I didn't expect anything else. I didn't expect the characters to be the same. Personally, I would have been just as happy if Harriet had found some way to publish RJ's notes in some sort of coherent form.

I don't think I read every word in the last 6 WoT books that RJ wrote. I got bored, and ended up skimming them all. I did the same with the ones BS wrote, so there wasn't much lost.

I don't think RJ could have finished the story in 3 books and I'm not sure I would have waded through 2 or 3 more volumes to get to the end.

I'm grateful it's over and to know what RJ had planned.
