He confirmed that Mordeth had done much research on "ancient and dark things" and he confirmed the theory that part of the secrets and tricks came from visiting the Aelfinn and Eelfinn through the ToG.

In AMOL there's an allusion that the location of Shadar Logoth not very far from the Tower of Ghenjei was also important. To create it, Mordeth needed to be close to a location where barriers between world was thin. He mean to create a new SL in the valley of Thankan'dar this time.



Some pretty interesting stuff there. I always wondered how Mashadar and whatnot came into being, since being born of hatred seemed kinda lame, and not at all in keeping with the norms of magic in WoT.
