My initial impressions.... - Edit 1

So... What was your favorite and Least favorite:
1. Scene in the book
Best: Logain getting pwned by Demandred was pretty great, but I also loved Rand's simple salute to Aviendha as he walked into the Pit of Doom at Shayol Ghul. The whole thing felt so... Final.
Worst: Perrin killing Lanfear. Such potential. Lanfear's endgame revealed at the moment of truth between Rand and the DO. But tell me, how the hell did Lanfear expect to enter a circle with 2 men (or one man, for that matter) and control the power they were channeling? That was her goal, right? To hold the DO in her hand as Rand did and offer him survival in exchange for whatever she wanted? Instead she planned to kill both of the other female channelers there, making it impossible for her to accomplish this goal. She wouldn't have been able to control anything. Such a potentially great moment, then Perrin just chokes her out. Such a disappointment that made no sense to me.
2. Plot wrap up
Best: Rand, getting to take off on his own and see the world. Worked for me.
Worst: Olver can sound the Horn? Wtf??? So when Rand balefired Rahvin after Mat's death, it undid everything about Mat's death except the severed connection to the Horn? Or did the severance happen when Mat was hung at Rhuidean? And how come no one thought about this before? It would have saved a great deal of trouble.
3. Character death
Best: Egwene, hands down. She truly went out like a badass, taking Taim, Demandred's sa'angreal, and ALL of those pesky Sharans with her.
Worst: Siuan. She's in it from book one, goes through hell and back to get the bloody Dragon Reborn to the last battle, helps save the entire blue ajah... And then dies in a tent fire.
4. New tidbit of knowledge (OP or otherwise)
Best: callandor as a trap for Moridin, for sure. I hadnt puzzled that out at a.
Worst: for some reason i thought Mat's talisman only protected him from female channelers since Rahvin smoked his ass straight away in TFOH. Now it stops everything, and so do Elayne's shitty copies. Whatever.
I just finished and am still processing. Overall, I liked it.
