The passage in the book reads:
"Take care," Demandred said. His voice sounded pathetic, weak. The squeaking of a mouse. "Do not channel through that toward me. I have bonded Sakarnen to me. If you try to use it against me, it will burn you from the pattern."
What bothers me is the unclear nature of the condition "use it against me".

I think the problem is that you don't actually use an Angreal AGAINST anyone. You pull power through it, and then use that power, you don't send your power through the Angreal and then weave what comes out of it.
