To essentially drop the Asha'man like Flinn, Narishma and Logain from the story to shift the focus to create a whole arc for a character named one or twice by RJ previously, boosting him to main secondary character, with more screen time than many main players (Faile, Nynaeve, Moiraine, Loial... ) even it meant outshining and sidetracking the players RJ had developed toward this is all RJ's bloody fault, all deriving from the pacing of COT. Heck, even the baby kissing scene with Logain felt like someone put a leash on Brandon and forced him to give Logain "his glory", because if Brandon had follow his whims, it would have been Androl. Brandon turned Logain into a figurehead leader, while the whole book spells out the real leader at the Black Tower is bloody Androl, humble Androl who lets Logain appear to lead.
I enjoyed the relationship between androl and pevara particlarly the telepathy with the mutual bonding. yes logain did get sidelined by androl in the course of things but i could live with that. it would be hard for any author not to put some of his own style and thoughts into a series when taking over for another author. i have enjoyed sanderson's interpretation of the series and characters. he may not be RJ but he brought the series to my mind a satisfying conclusion.
So, am I the only one who kind of liked the whole Androl/Pevara plot?

It felt like a plot tacked on as a vanity by Sanderson

I kind of always thought RJ intended the minor characters to be bland

I feel the same about Mat's luck powers. You talk about plot armor, his is a plot bulldozer.

I hated it because it reeked of sanderson pandering to "internet humour" for lack of a better term.

It wasn't bad. However, it took away time from characters that readers were more invested in. *NM*

He probably didn't have enough time to learn the characters completely

Pretty much. But I think significant blame should be laid at Jordan's feet for his abysmal pacing.

Certainly RJ deserves some of the blame. But pacing issues were not the only issue with AMOL
