Willpower and belief may have the caveat that belief is a consensus. I'm not saying I have all the answers, I don't have RJ's notes or RJ's brain. But for you to make declarations as fact, like you are, is silly. all we can do is speculate.
Maybe the consensus need at SG was enough to cause some channelers to be able to perform exceptional feats. Didn't we read that *Tel'aran'rhiod* was "bleeding" into the real world, and vice versa, at SG? The physical rules of the Pattern were in total flux. There's a lot of potential reasons that old limits/beliefs/rules may not have applied in the same way that they had previously.
