Thought you'd been extinguished
Ha! ' /> Not a chance. Cancer surgery, radiation treatments, heart attack and 2 stents, plus just turned 55 a month ago, I almost feel immortal. (Although I do get winded climbing out of bed or just thinking about sex )
Gone are the days of the chora trees and the Longest Theory.
Sometimes I look back and think about how much time I devoted to researching and writing those theories and I just shake my head in amusement. Ahh well, it was fun anyway, and gave people something to read and talk about in-between books, so I guess it wasn't a total waste of time.
I feel your dismay at what you said in one of your other posts about the OP. Although magic isn't the main thrust of good fantasy, it is a large part of the reason people enjoy the genre. Sanderson really shortchanged us on that, IMO. Add that in to never quite getting the interplay between characters right, and the story becomes less than we expected.
