"He shall spill out the blood of those who call themselves Aiel as water on sand, and he shall break them as dried twigs, yet the remnant of a remnant shall he save, and they shall live."

The Aiel seemed to have had some real significant losses during the Last Battle, but even if they lost 90 percent of their warriors, they would still have a large population of young, old, gai'shains, blacksmiths, and badly injured. They would also have all the Aiel that stayed in the waste. Overall it just seems that there are to many Aiel left to only be considered a remnant.
And there is too much world left for Rand to have "broken" it. Hell, the countries are all still more or less the same with slightly different leadership. Relatives and best friends of the old monarchs, and so forth.

On a side note; I really thought that Rand was going to save a great deal of the Aiel by returning the them to the way of the leaf, and teaching the Aiel/Tinkers how to sing.
That would suck so hard. I would seriously, without the slightest exaggeration, prefer an ending where Egwene is crowned queen of the world to that outcome.
