Pure speculation but... thebestrob Send a noteboard - 17/12/2012 01:48:31 PM
Don't know if this has been addressed before. Did a search but came up empty. My question is: If a Suldam is shielded can she still direct a Damane. It is clear from the books that an adam is not a ter'angreal that can be used by non-channeler. So, however thin the link is, it must be dependent on the suldam having a connection to the power. The Suldam must be utilizing the power however insignificant to amount.

The a'dam creates a link between the women. This wouldn't be possible if one was shielded.

Would it matter if it was the damane or the Suldam? I'm guessing not. Some part of the a'dam is independent of both channellers accessing the source - control, punishment etc - so I'd guess the device works in some respect but in terms of a Suldam contolling the damane's flows, I'd say neither could be shielded.
