see we can agree on the relative strength of Egwene v. Forsaken darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 20/11/2012 05:35:07 PM

Because two women can hold anyone (see Vandene/Adelease etc), but they add a third to hold Semirhage for caution's sake. Egwene can be held by one woman who knows what she's doing, once again proving to you both in the midst of your chaos that Egwene isn't close to Forsaken strength. Its fantastic when squabbling sinks your own theories :P

Wow. That's a twisted bit of logic. First, I don't think I've even stated that Egwene bing close to Semirhage means they're the same strength. I put Semi at 90-95, and Egwene at 75. That's a considerable distance.

Secondly, while we're told three weak Aes Sedai are enough to hold Semrihage, in the case of Egwene, we're uniformly talking of the strongest of Aes Sedai. Makes a ton of difference to the numbers you'll see.

I'm insisting that one woman as strong as Silviana can hold Egwene, and your counter to that is that two weak women like Daigian and Elza can hold Semirhage? Bravo!

but we have a definitive quote that a woman as strong as Amys cannot hold Egwene on her own. Amys states it outright at a time when Egwene was weaker than she is when Silviana and forkroot hold Egwene.

I agree that Semirhage is in the mid-90s and would place Egwene around an 80 ... difference of about Daigian's strength ... which in the grand scheme is pretty significant since Daigian is stronger than about 1/3 of all Channelers.
