We've always been close with everything except the scale darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 18/11/2012 10:29:07 PM
Most likely she is around the highest end of 5 SDs above Mean. IMO all of the Forsaken are either 4 or 5 SDs above Mean with Egwene and falling at the lower end of 4 SDs (thus satisfying the "one step below the Forsaken" quote) and Moghedien at the upper end of 4 SDs ... Cadsuane would be at the higher end of 3 SDs (Meilyn and Karene the lower end of 3 SDs) and Moiraine the upper end of 2 SDs. Which places a woman like Verin about 1 SD above Mean and the Mean close to where Adeleas/Vandene sit. New Siuan is now 1 SD below and Daigian around 2 SDs below. Given what RJ said of minimum AS strength she can't be more than 2 SD below mean and still have any hope of being within AS strength ranges.

Problems do happen with the Stronger women since there are so few examples of women at the top of the strength rung we can't effectively extrapolate how far above Mean someone like Therava or Cadsuane may be, because we don't have enough data points to see how rare they really are. Who knows how many more women like Egwene or Sharina or Nynaeve are out there undiscovered. We actually have more named women between Morgase strength and Daigian than we do between Moiraine and Lanfear.

Yes I would agree that Moiraine is about 2SD etc. I think we pretty much agree on the SD thing.

Morgase is probably as rare as Lanfear. What's more uncommon... a giant or a midget? :)
