This description sure sounds like a ter'angreal to me...

What? The whole room?

That's precisely my theory that all their technology could be called "ter'angreal"!!!!

I was speaking about evidence they have any "cache".

People coming in there after the AOL were adventurers, so the notion they did get the ashan'darei from such a captured visitor makes sense, but Mat's medallion seems custom made. Not only they have a weavebreaker, which apparently were introduced only very late in the WOS, then some where made post-Breaking but only Cadsuane has found one, but that weavebreaker just happens to be the shape of the animal (it's a fox, not an Eelfinn) by which Mat is referred to in a specific verse of prophecy, the design refers to a trickster, and above all by sheer coincidence the price Mat would have to pay is mischieviously referred to in the form of the "one-eyed" fox...

Sorry, but everything points toward the Eelfinn having made this medallion.

Actually that's not true at all ... throughout the entire time they are in Sidhol Mat is approached by 'Finns with a variety of Bargain offers.

They were trying to trick him and Mat said so. Birgitte warned him he had to reach the Chamber of Bonds or they would not abide by any bargain...

someone in the AoL had to have done it this way to create the treaties in the first place and by extension the doorways.

We don't know this. There was another Portal in another room - of a different shape than the ones to the human world, and again this points to the Finns having made those Portals. We know they can go in a multitude of worlds... RJ made a slip about this when he revealed idly that if you asked to be King of the World without being cautious, they may leave you in an empty world where you de facto would be King...

Keep in mind trans world portals like the Finns use were even in the AOL experimental technology derived from studying the mysterious Portal Stones. Not so likely the Aes Sedai, who didn't undestand them much according to Lanfear, could make ter'angreal portals to another world...

Also keep in mind to enter the ToG, you first need to know the key (the triangle and wave, made with specific materials)! Unless there's some other way to enter (but again: portals between universe = not a technology the AS fully understood..) there's no way the first Aes Sedai went to Sindhol through the Tower. That the Sindholites came to the human world offering a treaty and the Portals to reach them is far more likely than the Aes Sedai discovering Sindhol (I also believe they're responsible for part of the Ogier world merging with the human one, but we'll see).

Given what we know of what happened with Lanfear it's very possible that Moridin avoided the doorways completely so as not to be held by the treaties himself.

Why would Moridin want to avoid the treaty? What happened to Lanfear/Moiraine no mystery - the way out warranted by the treaty had been destroyed, they were trapped.

That Moridin went to the doorway in Tear is further suggested by the fact the Portal was also destroyed, not melted that one but pulverized. IMO Moridin destroyed it after exiting in Tear. The Vault was warded? That didn't stop SH to unravel or teach Elza to unravel Cadsuane's inverted wards. Either way, it was done with the True Power, and we have all the reasons to believe the TP can destroy or weaken OP wards.
