No, Nynaeve had to teach Rand how to link. Once the link was established, he quickly seized control from her.

It does happen similarly in the Cleansing chapter as in this chapter, but Nynaeve EXPERIENCES saidin before Rand takes control of the link, quite unlike what happens between Androl and Pevara.
