No, she would not have been able to (nor even see them to report about them) DomA Send a noteboard - 18/10/2012 09:32:38 PM
Between knowing Verin's mission and seeing Cadsuane's reaction ... and the last statement in Cadsuane's mind "aiming at different goals" ... I tend to fall on the Sorilea as a DF side. Certainly nothing definitive, but I don't recall ever seeing anything as overt as this to implicate Bair.

Verin wasn't trying to suggest Sorilea was a DF. By "our side" she meant Cadsuane's group (which by that point she considered herself part of) and their plans for Rand, not the Light. It would have been fairly easy for Verin to discover if Sorilea was a DF. She knew Katerine escaped with help from DF. She only had to do what Katerine most likely did: use the DF signs to bring DF Aiel to identify themselves to her (which considering how close they got to Rand, Verin probably tried to do with all the major WO she met alone, starting with Amys and Sorilea).

Verin was simply fishing for Cadsuane's plans by bringing up Sorilea (which ended up lifting the last doubts Verin still held about Cadsuane, and considering Cadsuane didn't reveal much, it sounds like Verin had already pretty much ruled her out. She just wanted to really understand what her plans were to be sure. When Cadsuane told her it was about Rand becoming too hard and victory being possibly worse than a defeat if he fought TG like this, all the pieces fell into place for Verin.

If she suspected Sorilea, you can be sure she'd had left a warning about this to Cadsuane. Sorilea is too formidable for leaving her untouched if there was suspicions - let alone proof, especially when Verin knew Cadsuane's real intentions for Rand.

Honestly, I'd be somewhat surprised if either of them turns out to be a DF ... IMO if a DF WO is out there it may be one of the less relevant ones.

Probably. I find it hard to believe Verin, who was even trying to puzzle out their hierarchy, wouldn't have made efforts after what she figured out about Katerine to find out if Amys, Bair, Melaine and Sorilea was a DF, and with the signs she had the means to find out. It was easy enough for a Black to lie and tell a WO who answered her signs that she revealed herself to her because she might need her help like Katerine.

I'm rather one of those who suspect the top Aiel DF were to be found among the Shaido (perhaps among those Shaido WO incl. Sevanna who came to visit the camp in Cairhien) and thus they may not have much of a role in the LB, except by TOM they were still in the area where Demandred is suspected to be, so perhaps the Shaido or Aiel DF will have some role before the end (like leaving the clan to join Demandred's forces, for instance).
