The second thing, which you might not have noticed, is that very uncharacteristically for a publisher they have not included the expected promotion of the release date in their post on chapter 1, neither in their intro, nor even at the end after the chapter... It doesn't say the book is coming out in January 2013... and it's very weird.>

Very good point. I hadn't picked up on that.

I looked back and notice that the TOM prologue was released about a month and a half before the November 2 release date, whereas we are now about three months away from January 8. Then again, Tor would have no reason that I can think of to release Chapter 1 so far in advance.
