That's almost as bad as game developers leaving out content from a game just to charge you extra for "DLC"
This post bespeaks one of two mindsets:
- You perceive a violation of your right to have whatever you want to have without paying the price.
- You perceive some sort of fiscal or intellectual superiority over those of us who are paying for it.
The answer to the first is do without or pay the price, but either way, grow up and stop whining like a deprived spoiled child.
The answer to the second is that prices and costs are subjective. When you buy an item from a store for $5, you pay because you want the item more than you want the $5. The store owner gives it to you, because he wants the $5 more than he wants the item. We are not paying "extra" for content that we will get in five months with the book, we are buying early access to the material. If $7-$9 is a fair price to watch a motion picture once for a mere two hours, when you will be able to rent the same thing for a third of the cost, and watch it many more times in the comfort and privacy of your own home a few months later, you cannot even say that our attitude is aberrant or foolish. To you, the early access is not worth $3. To us, it is. Each person has their own priorities and value system, and yours are your business, and frankly, not of the least interest to the rest of us.

I refuse to pay $2.99 for part of a book that will still cost you full price

I know, but the email is still sent to Subterranean Press. Didn't they make the ebook?

If you deside to pay, you're paying for getting it in advance. I think I can wait a couple of months *NM*
