ToM's darkness was weakened by the fact that we've already seen Rand's epiphany in tGS. I still enjoyed finding out how the story approached its final chapter, but the pacing was all off.
And I don't mean anti-climactic in the sense that the whole story is ruined, but the Rand arc has lost much of its oomph. He's already gone over his hump, and is ready to get down to business. We've seen the light at the end of the tunnel a book too soon, IMO.

Post-aMoL, will someone assemble a chronological way to read the final three books as one?

Why it "might be worthwhile"? *NM*

Because the way tGS and ToM currently work together feels anti-climactic.

It's not going to happen, but how is it lame? It's how RJ intended the story to be. *NM*

We'll have to wait and see how much AMoL overlaps with the other two books.

Shouldn't be done.

I believe the point is that BS's structure ruined the story somewhat

The books were meant to be chronological. Their splitting changed that. *NM*

Sanderson actually stated on Twitter quite some time ago that he had considered doing this.
