This is why 15 year-olds don't have legitimate rights. This is why they should shut up, stay home, and do what their parents tell them. That is why Roman fathers had the right to kill their children upon their own discretion. If ANYTHING Faile does is going to be excused by the inherent limitations of her age, then all sorts of positions she takes, or arguments she promulgates are automatically undermined. She did not have the right to go anywhere or do anything. She had no right to expect anything from Perrin beyond what any child does from a grown man, and she owed him the respect and deference of a child to an elder. She did not have the right to marry nor was her position with her mother in their Caemlyn reunion, that she was an adult, legitimate.

You can't have it both ways, not about her, nor Egwene nor any other character. If they are kids and to be forgiven for the limitations of children, then they must also forgo the rights and expectations of adults. If Egwene's selfishness or emotionalism is excused by her age, then she should not be holding any power or position of authority. If Faile is to be accepted as an immature child, then she should stay at home like a good child, attend her studies and obey her parents. She should not get onto boats with strange men, or pester and bother them or intrude herself on their missions.
