Only that Aran'gar is capable of it. Sanderson's version of Compulsion is quite different than what we had seen before, even Delana was capable enough to lay a compulsion on Ramshalan, and even then it happened so fast there was no way to know if the effects would have been seen.

How is Sandersons compulsion different? And while its true that Aran'gar died quickly, the brief view of Ramshalan did suggest that he was still mostly there, mentally.

Reread the scenes with compulsion, you'll see for yourself.

RJ's compulsion was primarly psychological manipulation, helped with a weave you could modulate and which created a intense feeling of receptivity in the victim. Beside finesse with the weave itself, you needed great knowledge of psychology for anything but near mind destroying compulsion. The level of compulsion Graendal used on Cyndane/Moghedien to immobilize them could easily have left them brain dead, she said so herself.

Brandon depicted it completely differently, strictly as a weave. Skill with compulsion became strictly OP-related.
