And lets not forget that Egwene knows to counter compulsion... fionwe1987 Send a noteboard - 19/05/2012 01:13:39 AM
She tells us in CoT that she learned the weave from Moghedien so she could learn how to counter it. This being Egwene, she learned all Moghedien could give, and is very adept at countering it.

Now, you could argue Aran'gar was using saidin, so Egwene has no way of countering it. But the way Egwene spoke of it, it doesn't seem like the counter is to slash the weave as it comes at you (Egwene needs no training to do that). Rather, I think Egwene knows how to detect it in others, and also detect if her thoughts have been interfered with.

Lastly, we know that the subtle compulsions are not very effective when a channeler holds on to the OP. What's the use of a subtle compulsion that tells Egwene to fear male channelers if she won't feel that fear each time she holds the Power?

Except we know Aran'gar was punished in some way for "losing control of her charge" - 18/05/2012 11:47:44 PM 787 Views
