During a reread of ToM, I was again struck by how Elayne's over reliance in Min's viewing about her babies causes her to rush into dangerous situations. One would have thought that after her last disastrous encounter with the Black Ajah she would have been more cautious instead of rushing in to confront them for a second time especially alone.
A smarter course of action would have been to send them to the White Tower immediately or at least obtain permission from Egwene to still them at once. Her unilateral actions caused the deaths of innocent Kins women and gave the Shadow a copy of Mat's Terangreal.
She shows a great deal of maturity when dealing with her political rivals and the art of governing but is impulsive when it comes to dealing with dangerous situations and is over confident in her channeling powers.

So it's better to not bother?! At least by stilling, you force them to make the effort.
