For that reason, I guess.
It's much the same as with Perrin. We have fairly little to go by except "he will lead wolves".
And Rand for that matter. If he doesn't mean to play an active political role and doesn't mean to lead the war to focus on his real mission, what will he do to have the most POV?
The resolution of Egwene's mid-series storyline in TGS was obviously just the start to get her ready for the role she'll play in TG, exactly like the ta'veren.
Obviously as well, there appears there will be far more to the role of the Aes Sedai in AMOL than merely become Mat's elite troops with the Asha'man. Cadsuane, Nynaeve, Moiraine, Elayne and so on - they're all expected to have much presence through TG (until or unless they die, anyway) but the fact Egwene has really come into her own as the Amyrlin now likely means when they are all reunited at Merrilor, the days of AS doing whatever they please without the Amyrlin even knowing what they're up to are probably over. Cadsuane is likely to be reined in under Adelorna and Egwene soon, just like Nynaeve was in TGS.
Very interesting QA with Brandon
