I don't know why you eat up what the Forsaken say so easily. Lanfear said she could match Lews Therin in anything too. These people are liars, arrogant, and just about everything else bad in the world in one person. I can't imagine Lanfear thinking anyone is better than her in TAR, or anything to be honest.
It stands to reason. The Wise Ones knowledge of TAR is limited to word of mouth teaching stretching back for 3500 years.
Well it depends. I'm all for AOL superiority, but the Seafolk also used 3000 years of word of mouth with the weather, and they're infinitely superior to any AOL channelers with that ability. Amys merely said that they think they can match the Forsaken in ability in TAR, after tracking and watching them for a few months. I don't think it's a ridiculous boast - they saw them in action and how well they could control TAR.
In contrast, Lanfear's abilities seemed to be the culmination of all the TAR knowledge from all the research of the Age of Legends. And if the hints can be believed, Moghedien at least matched, and possibly exceeded her abilities in this domain.
I agree that Lanfear and Moghedien have the high side of that Talent and lots of knowledge. The point is that Egwene and co could have the same level of Talent and potentially equal knowledge, depending on whether the Aiel really concentrated on this world for 3,000 years. They could either be like modern Healers who pale next to AOL Restorers, or they could be busy with their 3rd Age nonsense which is surprisingly skilled.
