Neither halves of the One Power were used to inflict anything on Shadar Logoth. The female half merely formed a conduit, and the male half was only sieved through Shadar Logoth.
In fact the entirety of Saidin was pushed through the conduit to destroy the taint. By your reasoning the Taint actually was not used to inflict anything on SL ... It's the opposite SL was used to inflict damage to the Taint. Yes SL was destroyed n the process, but it was put under a massive stress by the OP and the TP.
Correct me if I am wrong, but during the cleansing, Saidin was passed throught a conduct made of Saidar than throught SL.
A massive Dome of blackness was forming above SL. The taint was "repelled" just like 2 magnets of the same polarity. At the end when the repulsive force was not strong enought to repel the "weight" of the Taint, the Dome collapse and the 2 forces were force into contact, wich destroyed them both.
I believe that the OP never "harm" SL at the Cleansing.
What's so special about Callandor?
