It's something of a theme throughout the entire series. My intent with the "Spoiled" comment was meant to be a generalization, not a literal, thus the " ... Her behavior in the books tells a very different story, but it's also inconsistent ... The first time we see her she is naive and clearly has a desire to Heal, which later we see no interest in. Later she is a mediator between Egwene and Nynaeve ... Well Nynyaeve and pretty much everyone else. Later still she is practically a thrill seeker. And finally we end up with "Super Queen" ... It's more the inconsistency of the character that I find problems with than the various personality types she shows.

Unlike most of the others her personality has been unpredictable and her jumps in type have been less well sketched out than the others ... Rand, Egwene, Mat and Nynaeve have had fairly easy to see progression as characters and have all kept a certain amount of baseline consistency to their core personality, or the changes are obvious (in the case of Rand especially). Elayne seems to be more of an experiment in each book ... It's almost as if RJ was thinking "What if Elayne started being this now" with little in the way of keeping her character consistent in any way. She is almost unrecognizable now compared to her earlier self... Like she has left nearly everything behind ... Perhaps that was deliberate, but it doesn't feel as natural to me as a reader.
