From Brandon's blog:

As a side note, people are wondering about the last Wheel of Time cover. Mr. Sweet did finish a concept, which I have seen, but did not finish the entire illustration. No decision has been made yet whether another artist will take this concept and do a final piece according to it, or if the book cover will be scrapped and a new concept done. I will let you know.

Yeah, it sounds like Harriet or Brandon had settle on an early idea for a scene they had Sweet propose concepts for, perhaps as I guessed this was for a scene RJ wrote or that Sanderson sent a synopsis or description of to give Sweet a headstart since he was sick and all (that would have been perfectly possible for a concept similar to TOM's for instance, there was zero chance that the scene already written by RJ for a long awaited event would change much or that the players involved would change).

Sad to hear it. AMOL won't be the same without his art gracing the cover *NM* - 06/12/2011 01:52:40 AM 379 Views
Yes, AMOL won't be the same. I guess we'll have to find someone else to do the cover - 06/12/2011 01:56:29 PM 785 Views
I'm wondering if he's got MOST of it done, if they'll just have someone finish. - 06/12/2011 04:21:09 PM 836 Views
I don't think he has even started - 07/12/2011 12:03:43 PM 882 Views

I generally found a book with a Sweet cover worth reading. - 06/12/2011 09:37:27 PM 663 Views
