Anyone else wondering if we are going to get to see different uses for gateways in the next three books? It has always puzzled me why no one has tried using them for various objectives such as aerial scouting or area bombardment. By putting a gateway in the air above a target someone who channels could gain a good deal of information about an area or use it to drop fireballs on an enemy. Overall it has been a very under utilized device.
I wish they would use Aerial gateways to look and see if they can open a gateway on the ground without killing anyone. No more "I can only make a gateway to a point that is 2 days ride from the city, otherwise I might slice someone up."
"And it breaks my heart to look around, and see the unimpressed; who can't believe the emperor is dressed"~Fastball

True, but that was in TAR. Notorious for having "different rules".
