Are there any PoVs you really don't like?
Yes.
If so, which characters feature most prominently in those sections?
Perrin and Gawyn.
Does that make you angry? (As in, you really love Avi, but can't stand Elayne? Vice versa? You get it.)
No. Both are relatively non-characters to me, in that their personalities don't seem fully developed, so it's more of an exercise in boredom. I think Gawyn has major issues in terms of what it takes for him to murder or hurt people, and Perrin is simply boring. Being thoughtful is not boring, but RJ made Perrin out to be intellectually slow. Which means that, as a character, he becomes a tool pretty easily because he fits the mold too well.
Do you ever let yourself skip? Skim?
Only on re-reads.
Conversely, what are your favorite PoVs?
Rand, Egwene, and Cadsuane.
Do you read them more than is called for?
Yes. Mainly because they are the only ones that seem to have a reason for doing anything, with the latter two actually giving reasons for why they did what they did that made sense and were consistent. Rand is fun because he at least moves the plot along sometimes, even if he acts like a monster in certain situations. Cadsuane is not my favorite, obviously because she is way too uber to be believable, but she also has a really good idea as to who she is as a person, and as a result, her responses are actually very reasonable. She is a long way from being my favorite, but she at least has enough currency to buy a clue now and again.
I know we've talked about this before, but I'm re-reading KoD, and it's making me intensely curious. Especially for you new people I don't know.^.^
I hope I entertained you!
