But that only applies to piracy of the actual book itself.

By providing a specific place for "pre-release" previews, and not enforcing any kind of spoiler, quoting or etc, you are placing yourself in a position of being charged with "abetting and encouraging" piracy. Not a good idea.

The NAPSTER analogy only works if the book itself was being copied for illegal distribution, which obviously would be wrong on every level.
The 'legal' arguments I've seen in this thread do not really hold water, and do not come close to any review policy or agreement I've ever seen a publisher issue in four years of getting review copies of books.
Typically, publishers do not hand out NDAs because it is really not worth the hassle. And if they're not handing out an NDA to be signed, there is nothing they can do once they've sent a book out for review. Obviously if the book has been stolen from the warehouse or the office (as happened with HARRY POTTER a few times), that is a legal matter.
Sensible bloggers will, of course, abide by any 'requests' that the publishers send along with the book (such as to wait until such and such a date or ensure a strict no-spoiler policy), otherwise they may find themselves not getting review copies of TOWERS OF MIDNIGHT or A MEMORY OF LIGHT - or indeed anything else Tor or Orbit ever publish ever again - when the time comes.
I'm seeing the Orbit reps tomorrow, so I might get some additional clarification on the ground rules and things that people seem worried about here.
Do you guys want pre-release reviews on this board?

No, if people want to review the book, they can do it on their own blogs. *NM*

If it's going to be in a separate section, and it's spoiler free, why is "NO" even an option?

Absolutley! ^ If they don't want to read that section then it shouldn't be a problem. *NM*
