Actually, there is growing discontent, even among those who've defended Martin. Libby Send a noteboard - 07/08/2011 11:05:33 PM
I haven't noticed much in the way of backlash over ADWD. The most succint criticism IMO is that there shnould have been another hundred pages at the end to wrap up the battles at Meereen and Winterfell.

Well, there's more criticism then that - That the book lacks any sort of climax is just one factor. The fact that certain Characters seem to have regressed in terms of their development. The fact the books as introduced even more characters and sub-plots with no resolution to any of them in sight. The fact book was left with an absurd amount of cliffhangers. Etc.

You only need to go to Westeros or Amazon to see the growing discontent.

Again, all is forgiven if he can finish up all the shit he started in Dance with Winds but God help him if he takes another 5 or 6 years. Love and hate are opposite sides of the same coin and the edge is razor sharp. The general fanbase, especially those who have been defending him for the past decade (myself included) are ready to turn on his ass.

Those who says that nothing happens in ADWD really need to read CoT - 29/07/2011 12:02:23 PM 1164 Views

Agreed. It could be argued that more happens in the epilogue of ADWD than all of CoT. *NM* - 01/08/2011 01:27:58 AM 409 Views
