I find all of the non-channeling related combat implausible and over-dramatic RugbyPlayingAshaman Send a noteboard - 03/06/2011 03:51:35 PM
This is probably why I ended up picking all of the channeling characters as my favorites versus the warriors. The battles never seemed that dangerous to me, and seemed way too cinematic. RJ tended to shy away from describing how soul-wrenchingly horrible combat was, down to being ankles deep in blood and gore, seeing friends hacked down right in front of you with pieces of their organs all over your face and getting into your mouth and the screams of the wounded as they are trampled by horses, countrymen and etc. As a result the outright stupidity of an Aes Sedai running onto a chaotic battlefield wearing a dress never really gets that much of a second look or the difficulty in fighting multiple opponents is never really handled so much as it is referenced by our uber Marty Stu combat Gods, so it's a non-issue.

I think it does make them unrealistic. Stylistic choices determine how these scenes are conveyed. - 03/06/2011 09:24:21 PM 1015 Views
